A year later...

I am sitting on the C& J bus anxiously waiting to be back in the beautiful town of Ogunquit, Maine. As I am writing this blog I am mixed with several different emotions. First of all, It has been almost a year since I started this blog....A YEAR!!!! How does time go by so fast?

A year ago I graduated from JMU, had a crazy beach week, and was convinced that a blog needed to be written to document just how insane I really am. A year later, I have absolutely matured in the sense that I juggle 4 different jobs to pay my rent and live comfortably in one of the most expensive cities in the world. Not only have I made the move to New York City, found jobs, have been dancing, but I have also learned a lot more about who I am as a person and what I would like to achieve in the future.

Some examples of things that I have realized about myself.

I am independent. I moved to NYC. I traveled to California for 5 days...BY MYSELF....and had FUN!

I am a workaholic. I worked at an awful restaurant (70 hours a week) got sick and quit. I became bored quickly with my free time and realized it wasn't actually working that I hated it was the actual job. I now am the site coordinator at Arts Connection, guest bartender throughout new york city, bartender/server at the hog pit, yoga instructor for children...the list goes on. Oh and I justtt interviewed for an administrative assistant position at New York Theatre Ballet. Fingers Crossed.

I love working with kids. Teaching and being in schools every day has truly opened my eyes to the love I have for working with children. There is nothing better to me than seeing the progress of a student from week to week and knowing I was apart of the child's success. Even the small things. For example, the other day a little girl was getting teased and talked to me in the hallway crying. Next thingI knew she had a smile on her face and was ready to go back into class because I convinced her that she was great.

Anyways, I know this is going on and on but all of these little things I have been learning about myself made me realize that I am one crazyyyyy girl for a reason! I am a child at heart and I love adventure. You put those 2 things together and its no wonder I have all these crazy stories!!!

So back to where I started. A year later. Yes I am more mature in terms of life lessons that you only learn from experience. BUT, I honestly believe I will have crazy stories for the rest of my life that most people would think...."Really....you did what????" It's just who I am...EvieK....one crazy chick! Keep on reading because I have a feeling this summer will be FILLED with stories!

I also decided Im going to bring my iflip with me everywhere. Maybe I'll even have a video to post.

As always....Much Love.....Xx
